Johor BN launches visionary state manifesto [NSTTV]

JOHOR BARU: Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) launched its manifesto for the state today, with the theme “Team Johor for a New Decade – Offers for the Future.”

The manifesto was launched by Johor BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre here.

It features three targets: fulfilling the needs and improving the prosperity of Bangsa Johor; positioning Johor as a new southern economic power; and preparing Johor to become a competitor to anyone, including Singapore.

There are 230 offers under the manifesto’s five main thrusts, which have been dubbed “Hi-5.” The five thrusts are: a prosperous economy; a comprehensive infrastructure; the development of minds, talents and skills; high-performance leadership; and a sustainable, Islamic and cultured society.

Specific initiatives in the manifesto include all exco members and civil servants being required to declare their assets to the Menteri Besar; and all 56 state representatives and 5,000 local council staff members being required to take the anti-corruption oath.

The coalition is also making relevant offers to five target groups: youths, women, the disabled, the Felda community and the Orang Asli community.

"BN is offering at least 16 plans for the young people of Johor, and at least six plans for women," Khaled said.
