GPMS: BN's track record has enabled it to win peoples trust all along

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional’s (BN) ability to survive this long was due to its ability to implement and deliver promises made to the people in the country.

Federation of Malay Students Union (GPMS) president, Zambri Mohd Isa said BN’s vast experience, good history and proven track record had brought Malaysia to where it was now.

“BN is a coalition that has proven its ability to develop the country and remains as the main choice for the people due to its clear direction and policies.

“The past and recently launched manifestos are testament that BN-led government has the ability to implement and deliver what is promised,” he said.

Zambri said safeguarding the well-being of the people of all races had also been the priority of BN.

“All races in the country were equally assisted regardless of their political stance and belief.

“BN is not only for the Malays, but for all races. The coalition has been promoting diversity for so long and has very good governance in terms of social mobility for all races,” he said when commenting on why BN should be given the mandate to continue ruling the country.

Malaysia Youth Council secretary-general Ahmad Saparudin Yusup said the BN-led government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had successfully implemented the National Transformation Programme (NTP) and the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) based on an inclusive and resilient development model that had convinced foreign investors and international rating agencies.

He said even the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had given the thumbs-up to Malaysia for being on the right track to achieve a developed nation status.

Saparudin also shared his experience when attending an international youth forum held in Istanbul two year ago, where other international representatives had expressed their admiration for Najib for his leadership.

Meanhwile, Muslim Consumers Association of Malaysia (PPIM) lead activist Datuk Nadzim Johan said he believed that Malaysia would continue to be admired internationally especially for its stance on issues concerning the interests of Muslims.

Citing the recent incident when United States president Donald Trump had recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, he said even Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had contacted Najib to share his concern on the matter.

“This shows how others look up to us, not only on the Jerusalem issue, but also on issues concerning the plight of the Rohingya and others,” he said.
