Selangor Pas to contest in 20 parliamentary and 47 state seats

SHAH ALAM: Selangor Pas will contest in 20 parliamentary seats and 47 of the 56 state seats in the coming 14th General Election (GE14).

State commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi who made the official announcement here tonight said among the notable candidates are celebrities Ahmad Dasuki Rani, Mohd Zamri Zainuldin and

Nushi Mahfodz.

Zamri, who was TV9 “Mari Mengaji” programme host will be contesting in Sungai Burong state seat, while Nushi who was formerly Astro Oasis’ “Jentik Hati, Suntik Minda” host and Serdang Pas deputy chief has been fielded for Bangi parliamentary seat.

Dewan Ulama Pas Selangor deputy Ahmad Dusuki Rani will be contesting in Kota Anggerik state seat, while Pas research centre director Dr Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki in Shah Alam parliamentary seat.

The majority of candidates will be contesting in the seats Pas had won in the previous general election.

Among them are Mohd Shafie Ngah who will be contesting in Sungai Ramal (previously Bangi), Noor Hanim Ismail (Seri Serdang), Dr Halimah Ali (Selat Klang), Mohd Haslin Hassan (Tanjung Sepat), Hasbullah Ridzwan (Gombak Setia), Zaidy Abdul Talib (Taman Templer), Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi (Sijangkang), and Razaly Hassan (Dusun Tua),while Sallehen will remain in Sabak.

Former Selangor Pas Commissioner and Meru assemblyman Dr Abd Rani Osman will contest in the Kapar parliamentary constituency. — Reports by Khairul Azran Hussin, Siraj Mohd Zaini and Tharanya Arumugam
