Mix of new, old and returning faces for Selangor BN in GE14 [NSTTV]

SHAH ALAM: Barisan Nasional (BN) today announced its candidates for all 22 parliamentary and 56 state seats in Selangor for the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14).

The announcement which was made by Kapar BN chairman Datuk Faizal Abdullah, sees a line-up of new faces, returning candidates and incumbents who seek to wrest Selangor from the opposition pact parties.

The incumbents defending their respective seat are Tanjong Karang MP Tan Sri Noh Omar (who is also Selangor BN chairman and the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister), Sabak Bernam MP Datuk Mohd Fasiah Fakeh, and Sungai Besar MP Budiman Zohdi (who is also Sungai Panjang assemblyman).

Others are Hulu Selangor MP Datuk P. Kamalanathan (who is also the Deputy Education Minister) and Kuala Selangor MP Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim (Umno Supreme Council member) who will also be retained for their respective seats.

Wanita MIC chief Datuk Mohana Muniandy will contest the Kapar Parliament seat which was traditionaly contested by wanita leaders from the BN component party. The party however lost the seats in the 2008 and 2013 polls.

Senator Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin had been announced to contest in Gombak Setia state seat, while Selangor Gerakan chairman Datuk Ang Chin Tat will be fielded as BN candidate for Puchong parliamentary seat.

Returning faces sees Umno’s Datuk Dr Karim Mansor contesting the Tanjong Sepat state seat, while

Datuk Mohamad Satim Diman returns to contest his former state seat of Seri Serdang.
