GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has acknowledged that eight of the 29 state seats, held by the opposition pact, are in “worrying” state.
The DAP secretary-general said Barisan Nasional has a chance to recapture these seats, if the opposition does not work hard to retain them in the 14th General Election (GE14).
He however declined to reveal which are the eight seats that concerns the opposition pact.
“This is based on my own sources. We need to defend the seats. We need to be careful as we cannot be assured of victory.
“As such, we have to work hard to retain the seats,” he said tonight.
Earlier, Lim launched the Penang manifesto, which has 68 promises based on 11 thrusts, themed “I Love Penang”.
Present was state DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow, state PKR chairman Datuk Mansor Othman, state Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman Marzuki Yahya and Parti Amanah Negara vice-president Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa.
Meanwhile, Lim said they are also looking into wresting five state seats and three parliamentary seats, currently held by BN in GE14.
