Pakatan's Rantau candidate refused entry to nomination centre; BN incumbent may win unopposed

KUALA LUMPUR: The incumbent for the Rantau state seat, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, may be sailing to victory unopposed after his sole challenger was prevented from entering the Dewan Sri Rembau nomination centre for lacking an Election Commission (EC) candidate pass.

For lack of proper credentials, Pakatan Harapan’s Dr Streram Sinnasamy was refused entry, as were his proposer and seconder, who were also without EC passes.

State Barisan chief Mohamad has served as Menteri Besar for three terms.

As of 10.30am, EC officials have yet to make an official announcement.
