Dr Subramaniam reminds voters of continuous development for people of Segamat

SEGAMAT: Despite heavy downpours and blistering heat, candidates are seen committed to completing campaign programmes and it is no exception for Segamat parliamentary candidate Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam.

Leading through example, Subramaniam staying true to his role as minister of health joined a tai chi session early morning before having breakfast at a local coffee shop near Pekan Batu Anam.

Subramaniam who is also the incumbent for Segamat parliamentary seat said that there has been continuous development, infrastructure and services for the people of Segamat, not forgetting the chinese community in Batu Anam who have been recipients of few development projects, one of which was a new school building.

“Development projects for the Chinese community here (Batu Anam) have been in the agenda. For example the brand new school that was recently built costing RM6 mil and other projects all over Segamat,” Subramaniam told the media during his walkabout which was also joined by BN candidate for Buloh Kasap Datuk Zahari Sarip and Jementah Chiam Yok Mein who spent the rest of the morning in a walkabout around Pekan Batu Anam, keeping touch with business’ owners and locals frequenting the shops there.

Yesterday, Subramaniam spend some time with the people of Felda Palong Timur and visited the temporary health centre which started operation a few weeks ago.

During his speech, Subramaniam reminded the people of Palong Timur to look at what the Barisan Nasional government had brought them in terms of facilities and better living conditions.

“I believe in these few days there will be people who will approach you to try change your opinion about the current government, but the most important thing is that you must be clear with what we have achieved over the past five years.

“We (Barisan Nasional) have brought in many infrastructures to improve the quality of life for the people of Palong Timur.

“Think what we (in Palong Timur) need and not what outsiders want,” reminded Subramaniam before continuing with his visit in Palong Timur.
