Rosmah to opposition: Come see for yourselves the success of the Permata programme

PEKAN: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has invited opposition members to visit Permata centres to see for themselves the work being done there and how successful the programme has been since its inception in 2007.

The Permata patron said opposition politicians frequently labeled programme as a waste of money and something which did not bring any benefits.

“We have six aspects which focus on different ways to uplift efforts for early education of children and there have been many success stories, some of which have been internationally recognised. As an example, some of those involved in Permata Seni have performed overseas and were highly-praised,” she said at a Permata on Wheels programme here.

Rosmah said those chosen for the various Permata programmes were based on their qualifications and not on the political leanings or ideologies of their parents.

She said Permata stressed on the development of the children’s social ability and personality, besides early education in the conventional sense.

“Each of these children have their own strengths, talents and expertise and these need to be nurtured so that they will realise their true potential and one day become useful members of society. These children will be the future leaders of the country.

“Therefore, I ask the people not to fall for the opposition’s propaganda which claims that the Permata programme is a waste because nothing comes out of it,” she said.
