Pas candidate tries to strike out ex-wife's arrest warrant bid [NSTTV]

KOTA BHARU: Ketereh’s PAS candidate Wan Ismail Wan Jusoh says he will apply to the Syariah Court to strike out the application for a warrant issued by his ex-wife over the failure to pay nafkah for his two children.

Wan Ismail said his lawyer had checked with the court and the warrant had yet to be issued. It was only approved after receiving an application from his ex-wife Siti Aisyah Abdullah.

“Today my lawyer went to court to strike the application because what my former wife had said was not true.

“I have proofs and Public Bank bank slips of my payments which now amounted to RM78,119,” he said at a press conference here today.

Wan Ismail challenged Siti Aisyah to submit evidence that the court had ordered him to pay the allowance to his two children only through Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) account.

“Since then I have not received any court decision in writing regarding the nafkah, but today she (Siti Aisyah) questioned the matter.

“If it is true that she cannot withdraw money from Public Bank, she should write a letter or something.

“So far the sum of money in both accounts has not been withdrawn,” he said, claiming that this personal issue was raised to tarnish his image as a candidate.

He added that he would discuss with his lawyer on potentially filing a suit against all the parties involved.
