Ex-Selangor MB Khalid: Don't be fooled by PKR's dirty politics; I was its victim once

SHAH ALAM: Former Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim today reminded the people in the state to not be fooled by PKR.

Khalid used himself as an example of one of those who had become a victim of PKR top leaders’ dirty political game, whom he alleged were more interested to look after the pocket of certain quarters.

Khalid claimed his fallout with the party started when he refused to release the state government’s money for the party’s use.

“When I was the Selangor menteri besar, I had managed to increase the state’s reserve. With the healthier reserve, I was told to give the money to the party.

“I refused do so because it was the people’s money and the top leaders were upset with me.

“I would rather step down than being involved in dirty politics as I had been entrusted to get higher revenue and give it back to thepeople,” he said at Jalan Kebun here.

Khalid had been helping Selangor Pas throughout the campaign period for the 14th general election (GE14).

The former menteri besar had alleged that PKR de-facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wanted him to use state government’s money to carry out PKR programmes and campaigns.

Khalid also took a swipe at Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali who did not know to differentiate between politics and the people’s interests.

“I have put everything in order for the state’s water restructuring exercise, but he (Azmin) destroyed (it).

“He wanted to pay RM2.7 billion for Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor Sdn Bhd(SPLASH) equity which is 10 times higher than the original offer of RM250.6 million.

“It is weird why he wanted to pay so much to SPLASH,”said Khalid.
