Shafie Apdal leaves for Istana Negeri for swearing in

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal left his residence with an entourage for Istana Negeri at about 8pm.

Earlier, Warisan deputy president Darell Leiking said Shafie was expected to be sworn in before Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at 9.30pm.

A press conference is expected at Shafie’s residence here after the entourage returns from the palace.

Meanwhile in a separate statement about 7pm, Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman, who was sworn in on Thursday, denied neither he nor his cabinet ministers had resigned.

Musa also said he had chaired the state cabinet meeting this afternoon at the Sabah administrative building here.

Warisan obtained a simple majority of 35 assemblymen when six of them crossed over from Barisan Nasional yesterday.

Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS), which is BN component, has also announced that it had left BN and applied to join Pakatan Harapan.
