Dr Mahathir receives courtesy call from Kelantan Menteri Besar

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has received a courtesy call from Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob at Perdana Putra here today.

Ahmad said the courtesy call was made based on official ties between the state and the federal government in the spirit of federalism in this country.

“In the meeting, we have conveyed our hopes that the federal projects in Kelantan will continue as planned.

“I have also expressed my appreciation to the prime minister who has given the green light to give the petroleum royalty to Kelantan during the last National Finance Council meeting,” he said in a statement.

Also present at the meeting were Ahmad’s deputy, Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah and Kelantan State Secretary Datuk Nazran Muhammad.

The Kelantan Menteri Besar also congratulated Dr Mahathir for his appointment as the seventh prime minister after the 14th general election.

“Hopefully this visit will form stronger ties between both sides followed by official cooperation involving the state executive councillors and the federal ministers for the well-being of the people in Kelantan,” he said.
