Bersatu going on recruitment drive

PETALING JAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is going on a recruitment drive to bring in more members.

The directive was given by the party's chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad during a townhall session with 130 division leaders at the Sheraton Hotel, here, today.

Speaking to reporters after the townhall, Dr Mahathir said he has not met many of the division leaders before and used today's event to hear their views and questions.

"We must meet the division leaders more often as they play a very big role in the party," he added.

Dr Mahathir said it is also important for the party to recruit more members.

This is because 'confusion' resulted in the party not winning big in the 14th General Election (GE14).

The Langkawi MP said many voters were confused in the general election as many voters did not know if the candidates were from Bersatu or other parties.
