PKR not the weakest link, says Nik Nazmi

SHAH ALAM: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is not the ‘weakest link’ in Pakatan Harapan coalition, out-going Youth chief, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said today.

"Anyone who feels we are the weakest link are wrong. We have 50 parliamentary seats...the highest in the coalition, 70 state seats with exco positions and two Menteri Besar."

Speaking at the opening of PKR National Youth Congress here, he said the Youth movement also believed that the party will be even better once the party's incoming president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim lead the party and country.

"We believe he (Anwar) will lead PKR towards a better future and when he becomes the 8th prime minister and PH chairman, we will be right beside him to take Malaysia to greater heights."

Nik Nazmi also paid tribute to outgoing party president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for her contribution and service to the party over the years.

He said PKR Youth will continue to be at the frontline of the changing Malaysian political landscape of Malaysia.

"But we should never be afraid to question or comment when necessary. The spirit of youths should never die," Nik Nazmi said.

He said PKR Youth will also extend its full support to all PH coalition parties including Warisan in Sabah.

"There may be some things, that we can't agree with but I think all of us, especially in our hearts and minds, want to make Malaysia a better place."

Nik Nazmi called on all members to ignore the critics, saying that "they are trying to separate us."

He assured that the PKR Youth will continue to play an important role in assisting the government in terms of policy implementation.

"We will assist the executive to implement changes and at the same time, we hope they will listen to our constructive criticism." he added.
