100 Amanah members rejoin party after 48 hours

MELAKA: About 100 Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) members from the Kampung Paya Rumput Jaya Hilir branch in Tangga Batu who resigned their memberships returned to the party fold just 48 hours after performing a political “U-turn”.

Branch chairman Jalalludin Mulot, who was one of those who had earlier decided to leave the party, said they had returned of their own free will, without any sort of pressure from anyone.

He said they had returned after the internal crisis which the members had been facing had been solved amicably in dialogues with state PAN chairman and Melaka Menteri Besar Adly Zahari.

Jalalludin also promised that there were no other problems involving positions in the Village Community Management Council (MPKK).

“We will continue being with PAN Melaka. Whatever the problem, we will always support the party’s struggles.

“What happened before this was a misunderstanding. This had been solved with the PAN chairman (Adly) without any outside interference,” he told a press conference also attended by sate PAN secretary Yuhaizad Abdullah.

On the appointments to positions in the council, Jalalludin said this would be discussed at a later point in time.

On Sunday, the New Straits Times Press had reported that the party members had decided to resign due to an internal crises revolving around appointments to the MPKK due to what was claimed to be the interference of a senior state executive council member.
