Johor Bersatu will accept central party leadership's decision on ex Umno members' fate

JOHOR BARU: The state Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia will accept any decision made by the party’s central leadership regarding Umno leaders and members who want to join the party.

Johor Bersatu treasurer Mazlan Bujang said they were confident that any decision made by the leadership was for the good of the party and the people.

“We will accept any decision on the matter. At the state level, we will give our feedback and opinion to the leadership on this matter.

“This is because there may be certain names which we may not agree to being accepted as Bersatu members,” said Mazlan.

He said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said that joining Bersatu does not mean that the Umno leaders and members would be given immunities.

“We are a party that follows the rule of law. So if these leaders have done any wrong doing then they have to face the law,” said Mazlan, speaking speaking to the media after closing the Karnival Bandaraya Prihatin 2018 organised by Yayasan Bandaraya Johor Baru.

At the event, Mazlan, who is state Works, Infrastructure and Transportation Committee chairman, also presented ‘back to school’ items to 268 recipients comprising children of taxi drivers and those from the Tebrau parliamentary constituency.
