PUTRAJAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (Bersatu) youth wing or Armada has issued a warning to the party's division chiefs to not get rid of the wing's division chiefs quietly.
Armada chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said if they were unhappy with any of the wing's division chiefs or leaders at the central level, the right thing to do was to take the matter through the proper channel.
"I realise there is a group of Bersatu members who are not happy with Armada.
"There are division chiefs who have tried to remove Armada division chiefs quietly, and question the credibility of my comrades. They tried many things.
"I want to warn those who have done these things. If you are not happy with Armada's chiefs, be it central or division, use the proper channel. Do not go through the back door.." he remarked in his policy speech at the wing's annual general assembly currently taking place at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), here, today.
"Remember. I did not appoint Armada division chiefs. The party's top leadership too did not (appoint them). It wasn't Tun or Tan Sri," he added.
The Youth and Sports minister also reminded delegates at the assembly that when he was given the power to appoint Armada division chiefs during the early days of Bersatu, he was not power hungry by appointing only his cronies.
"I handed over the rights and responsibility to the divisions without interfering. I did not appoint Armada division chiefs, but you division chifes did. So be more responsible.
"Do not remove Armada division chiefs via the back door, via shortcuts. Now the hands that appointed are the same hands that want to remove. That is not fair," he said.
Talking about the sacrifices of Armada division chiefs, he remarked how they were there from the early days and had worked day and night without pay.
"Do not remove them willy-nilly. I will prevent and fight those who do not go by party procedures.
"My warning is Armada's warning.
"Bersatu's rise and fall is Armada. Without Armada, Bersatu will go bust," he remarked.
