PH should not buckle under pressure: Anwar

SHAH ALAM: Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders must not to cave in to pressure but instead honour their promises to the people, said PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Admitting that the coalition had problems communicating its policies and decisions to the people, he reminded PH leaders to remain confident and continue working hard.

"Changing policies which have been accepted by the people for more than half a decade is not an easy task.

"We must remain confident. Let it not be because of current pressures or temporary shocks, we take a misstep and veer away from our original path and forget our manifesto.

"We must honour our commitment to the people," he said in his speech at the 2019 DAP National Conference here today.

Anwar, who is also Port Dickson member of Parliament, said no one in the country should be marginalised and the government must not forget that they represent all facets of society including farmers, fishermen and estate workers.

He added that there were groups, particularly those who were less fortunate, who felt like that they had been neglected.

"No one should feel marginalised. Consideration must be given to cater to the people's welfare based on what is required, and needs-based policies for every person in this country."
