Pas rejects immoral party leaders, says Hadi

KUANTAN: Pas will not hesitate to kick out any political leaders who are involved in immoral activities, said its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

He said was also willing to have the party dissolved if any of its leaders were found to be involved in unlawful acts.

"I would resign and dissolve the party if my people acted (immorally) this way. To us, moral is the core of the party and members. It (moral) will protect our identity (while) we protect our party.

"(To) the media, do report this, Pas rejects immoral political party leaders. I don't want to name names; 'siapa makan cili dia rasa pedas' (you know who you are)," he said during Pas Youth's 60th Muktamar.

Hadi said Pas would not hesitate to sack any leaders involved in immoral activities, "unlike the other party which deemed morality as a light matter and even involved in such activity."

“Islamic politics, tarbiyah (teaching) is given utmost importance in our party. Alhamdulillah, our discipline, tarbiyah, (and) moral is high.

“Only those who are willing to face challenges from all corners are able to be part of this struggle," he said, adding Pas upholds Islamic principles and would not separate politics from Islam.

During the wing's election, Perak-born Khairil Nizam Khirudin won the youth chief post uncontested, succeeding Mohd Khalil Hadi.

The new Pas youth deputy chief is Ahmad Fadhli Shaari while the vice chief is Afnan Hamimi Taib. Both also won the posts uncontested.
