Liew leads 17 Sabah PKR branch heads in loyalty pledge to Anwar

KOTA KINABALU: Seventeen out of the 26 Sabah PKR branch heads have thrown their full support for party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be the next prime minister.

Led by state PKR chief Datuk Christina Liew, the branch leaders signed a pledge to show their loyalty and support for Anwar to continue leading the party and become the country's 8th prime minister.

The signing was done during the party's state leadership council meeting here, yesterday.

The 17 branches comprised of Kota Kinabalu, which is headed by Liew; Kota Belud; Penampang; Putatan; Keningau; Semporna; Kimanis; Kota Marudu; Tuaran; Sandakan; Beaufort; Sipitang; Kinabatangan; Batu Sapi; Libaran; Pensiangan; and Ranau.

Meanwhile, in the meeting, Liew, who is also deputy chief minister, made a RM10,000 donation to the Bavangazo Theology Education Centre in Tinangol within the Matunggong constituency.

The contribution was to fund repairs of the building's roof, which was damaged in a storm on July 30. Kota Marudu PKR branch head Sazalye Donol Abdullah would present the contribution to the school on behalf of Liew.

She also announced a donation of RM1,000 for each branch to celebrate Aildiladha, which falls on August 11.

Liew also made a donation of RM2,000 to Tuaran PKR branch led by Dausil Kundayong for today's party membership acceptance ceremony of 500 new members at Kampung Kindu.
