BN, Pas leaders arrive at Sheraton PJ amid unity govt speculation

PETALING JAYA: Several Barisan Nasional and Pas leaders arrived at Sheraton Hotel here today, following speculation of a formation of a new government.

Opposition leader Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob reached the hotel at 7.10pm along with Putrajaya Umno treasurer-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Pengerang Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, Cameron Highlands MP Ramli Mohd Nor and Paya Besar MP Mohd Shahar Abdullah.

A few minutes after, Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s team led by his aide, Datuk Fadzlette Othman Merican were seen entering the building. However, Zahid has yet to be seen.

Soon after, Umno information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa was seen entering the meeting room here where many PKR and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia leaders have gathered since this morning.

Pas deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man also arrive at the hotel along with the party Dewan Ulama head Datuk Dr Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh at 7.30pm.

MP Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said all BN leaders had received instructions to gather at Sheraton Hotel tonight.

“Yes, the instruction is for all (BN) leaders to be here. GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) and Warisan will be here too I believe,” he said.

Other BN leaders seen here include Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, Kuala Kangsar MP Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid, and Kuala Krau MP Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Mohamed Said.

The other leaders who arrived include Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, followed by MCA youth chief Nicole Wong, Pas president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang, Rembau MP Khairy Jamaludin and Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
