Dr M clocks out on first day as Interim PM

PUTRAJAYA: Interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad left the Prime Minister's Office at 5.45pm today.

This was the first day of the Langkawi Member of Parliament’s tenure as interim premier after his appointment by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, following his resignation as the 7th prime minister.

Dr Mahathir had earlier tweeted: "Just another day at the office," along with three pictures showing him reading documents.

Besides performing his duties, he had also met with leaders from both sides of the political aisle.

They were PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal is expected to meet with Dr Mahathir tomorrow.
