Libaran PKR chief quits party with more than 3,000 members

SANDAKAN: A Sabah PKR appointed assemblyman, Jaffari Waliam has quit the party along with 3,144 members from the party’s Libaran division.

The former Libaran division chief said the decision was made after they had lost confidence with the party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and state party chief Datuk Christina Liew.

"It is proven that the leaders have failed to manage the party as they only prioritised certain quarters.

"They have side-lined the real fighters who have made sacrifices for 20 years," he said in a press conference.

Jaffari said during the last party election, it was apparent that there was no transparency and this was due to those who were in support of Anwar.

"As an appointed assemblyman, I was always asked how the party could help the people.

"How am I supposed to answer that if PKR is problematic?”

As these members left PKR, Jaffari said the division would be crippled and possibly dissolved.

"The Libaran division has one of the most members in the state. The dissolution of the division is possible as it does not have enough members,” he said.
