Sabah 2020: Bersatu's Hajiji hopes all can vote before polls close

TUARAN: Sabah Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (Bersatu) chief Datuk Hajiji Noor is hoping that all registered voters will cast their ballots in the 16th state election before polling centres close at 5pm today.

Hajiji, who is defending the Sulaman state seat, said the voting process at Sekolah Kebangsaan Serusup is proceeding smoothly.

"I can see that the voting process is arranged properly according to set standard operating procedures.

"Hopefully, for the polling centre at SK Serusup, the process can be settled and all can vote before it is closed," he said when met after casting his vote here.

Hajiji also thanked the Election Commission and other related agencies for their management of the election.

He also said he hopes that the election will not exacerbate the Covid-19 pandemic in the state, and for all constituents to remain healthy.

Hajiji added that he was satisfied with the turnout as of 10am; and confident that he will win.

He is facing a three-cornered fight with Parti Cinta Sabah's Rekan Hussien and Parti Warisan Sabah's Datuk Aliasgar Basri.
