My heart is in Port Dickson - Anwar

PORT DICKSON: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he was comfortable in this seaside Parliamentary constituency since his election two years ago.

However, it was up to the party to determine which seats he will contest in the upcoming general election.

"It's up to the party...if the party says PD (Port Dickson) PD laa ... (to contest) my heart is in Port Dickson, but it is still up to the party.

"After all, this Port Dickson ... many already know (me), many already know (me) but I haven't checked yet and we (the party) has not 'decided' yet," he said.

The Opposition Leader told this to reporters after he met with Mosque and Surau representatives from the constituency at the Ihya Ramadan event today.

He said at every moment, even when he was Permatang Pauh elected representative, he thought of his job as a Member of Parliament.

"It is different when it comes to national responsibilities. Though we have other big responsibilities, we must also take care of our area of responsibility.

"I see a much better reception (from the people) compared to before when I was contesting and now the friendly reception (I receive) at the mosque and surau, they do not look Anwar as an outsider ... maybe they did not come or were busy but the friendliness is there," he said.
