Unofficial: Muda wins Puteri Wangsa

JOHOR BARU: The Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) has won the Puteri Wangsa state seat with 18,891 votes.

Muda secretary-general Amira Aisya Abd Aziz secured the seat in a five-cornered fight.

She faced Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Ng Yew Aik who received 14,362 votes followed by Perikatan Nasional's Loh Kah Yong (7,914), Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) candidate Khairil Anwar Razali (2,158), Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) Steven Choong (2,103) and independent candidate Adzrin Adam who managed 346 votes.

Should this be the official result, Puteri Wangsa will be Muda's first ever win since it was formed.

The party made a pact with opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan to contest in seven state seats in the 15th Johor state election.
