Make findings of report on allegations from Tommy Thomas' book public, says Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi wants the report by the special task force on allegations from Tommy Thomas' book to be made public.

In a Facebook post today, Zahid said he feared there may be a possible cover up over the task force's findings.

"We also hope Cabinet, which will be presented with the report soon, will not try to cover up certain facts," he said in a Facebook post.

He was referring to the investigation on allegations made in the former Attorney-General's memoirs recently.

"This raises concern because we understand that some members of the existing government are from the former Pakatan Harapan coalition government. Those Cabinet members involved had also worked together for 22 months and were in 'consensus' with Thomas. There may be matters which they feel they must cover up," he wrote.

He supported the call to make the report public, saying that Malaysians need to be informed about the claims outlined in Thomas' memoir such as abuse of power, interference in the judiciary, and politically motivated prosecutions.
