GE15: Malaysia can be Asian Tiger again if GTA takes over, says Tun M

KOTA BARU: People must vote for Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) in the coming 15th General Election (GE15) so that Malaysia will once again become an Asian Tiger instead of being known for kleptocracy.

GTA chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said only this party would be able to form a good and credible federal government as its members and leaders were clean, corruption-free and full of integrity.

"GTA's members and candidates are clean from any crime and are experienced in various administrative fields.

"They are capable of helping the country recover. They can change Malaysia from a country known for kleptocracy back to being the Asian Tiger once again.

"They will not steal anything from their own country, not like certain leaders who have been stealing money from government," he said.

Dr Mahathir said this during his speech at the "Kebangkitan Rakyat Kelantan Bersama Negarawan" gathering at Kampung Kubang Rawa here today.

Also present were Putra president Datuk Ibrahim Ali, Kelantan Parti Pejuang Tanah Air chairman Datuk Sazmi Miah and Pejuang candidate for Kubang Kerian Mohamad Rizal Razali.

Dr Mahathir, who is also Pejuang chairman, said although GTA was a new party and the majority of its leaders old politicians, they were very experienced.

"We also have many young people as our members, politicians as well as NGOs. Perikatan Nasional and Pas claimed that the country was stable under their administration.

"But they actually have caused instability to Malaysia. We should not believe in Umno/Barisan Nasional as many of its leaders are involved in corruption and some are currently facing court action.

"We should not vote for them in this election," he added.

Dr Mahathir then said he was happy to come to Kelantan today as the majority of its people were Malays.

"Despite this, l am sad that Kelantan is recognised as one of the poorest states in the country.

"The politicians here claim there is no money for development, but when they get RM400 million, they use the allocation to buy Mercedes. This is how they spend the money," he said.

Dr Mahathir said he realised that the Kelantanese were "tied" to the Islamic party ruling the state and have remained loyal to the party.

"If Kelantan people do not want to drink 'teh susu' anymore and want to get out of their predicament, we have experts to solve it.

"We just need to change the unstable government and solve all these outstanding issues that threaten the stability of the country," he added.
