KUALA lumpur: Former education minister Dr Maszlee Malik has lost his Simpang Renggam seat.
The seat will now go to Barisan Nasional's Datuk Hasni Mohammad, who is former Johor menteri besar.
Hasni polled 18,312 votes to the Pakatan Harapan man's 16,491 for a 1,821-vote majority.
The Perikatan Nasional and Parti Pejuang Tanah Air candidates received 9,007 and 251 votes, respectively.
