No decision yet on 10th PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Istana Negara has yet to decide on who will be country's 10th prime minister.

Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told this to the media after his audience with the King today.

"Give us and His Highness time to make the final decision.

"The Agong has expressed his desire to have a strong government, inclusive of representatives from all regions, religions and races, which will allow it to focus on resolving the problems of the people and resuscitate the economy," he said.

He reiterated that there was no timeline given for the process.

"No timeline, that's (the appointment of PM) is the sole discretion of Agong, and we will accept the decision.

Asked about Agong's mandate to form a unity government, he said His Highness had been consistent about wantinh unity among the rakyat.

"Agong has been consistently urging Malaysians to unite, even when (Datuk Seri) Ismail Sabri (Yaakob) was appointed and previously, (Tan Sri) Muhyiddin (Yassin), but they had failed to do that.

"Unlike them, I will respect and follow (Agong's desire)," he said.

He also said that a minority government was not a consideration at the moment.

Earlier, Anwar and Muhyiddin were summoned to have an audience with the King.

Muhyddin left the palace at 5.10pm without speaking to the media.
