Tuan Ibrahim meeting with Wan Rosdy of a BN-PN state govt, raises eyebrows

KUANTAN: Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has shared a picture alongside Pahang Barisan Nasional(BN) chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, raising eye-brows on whether negotiations for a new Pahang state government has been concluded.

In the Facebook posting uploaded by Tuan Ibrahim, who was appointed by Perikatan Nasional (PN) to spearhead discussions with Wan Rosdy, wrote "Doakan kebaikan untuk Negeri Pahang, Insya-Allah.(Pray for the wellbeing of Pahang, God willing).

Pas vice-president Datuk Seri Idris Ahmad, who was also in the picture, shared the picture with the caption "Pahang sejahtera dan stabil. Doakan Allah permudahkan urusan. (Pahang is prosperous and stable. Pray to Allah to help ease matters).

Also spotted in the picture was Pahang's Kerdau assemblyman Datuk Seri Syed Ibrahim Syed Ahmad.

Yesterday, Pahang PN chairman Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah said the coalition has entered discussions with BN to form the new Pahang state government.

He said as PN's supreme council representative Tuan Ibrahim will continue holding talks with Wan Rosdy.

The latest series of developments comes as a surprise too many, as BN was initially in talks with PH to form the new Pahang government.

This was also confirmed by Pahang PH deputy chairman Leong Ngah Ngah saying the coalition has no issues working with BN, though he left it to the PH leadership to decide.

Wan Rosdy appears to have held talks with both Tuan Ibrahim and Pahang PH chairman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari separately over the last 48 hours in Kuala Lumpur.

In Saturday's general election, PN pulled a surprise after winning 17 seats compared to only eight in the previous general election.

BN won 16 seats while PH secured eight seats. No party obtained a simple majority of 21 seats to form the state government, resulting in a hung state assembly.

The Pahang assembly has 42 seats, but only 41 were contested in the state election that ran simultaneously with GE15, following the death of Tioman PN candidate Md Yunus Ramli on Saturday.

The election has been set for Dec 7.
