Stop spreading hate, lies about DAP, Fahmi tells Hadi

KUALA LUMPUR: Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has been told to stop spewing hate and spreading lies against DAP, who he claimed was promoting an Islamophobic narrative.

PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil also challenged the Marang member of parliament to lodge a police report against DAP if the latter had enough evidence to back his claims.

"Stop spreading hate, lies. Make a police report if these allegations against DAP are true. Let the authorities take the necessary action," Fahmi said in a posting on his Twitter account today.

It was accompanied with a retweet of a posting by HarakahDaily, which posted an excerpt of Hadi's column published by the daily at HarakahDaily.net.

In the same posting, Fahmi also reminded Hadi to heed the advice of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

"The king had called for all to close ranks (remain united) for the future of the nation.

"Jangan derhaka (Don't be treasonous)," Fahmi said.

In his column published by HarakahDaily today, Hadi accused DAP of promoting Islamophobia in its efforts to prevent the Islamist party from coming to power.

Hadi also claimed that DAP crossed the line when he alleged the party of trying to mislead the people by promoting members, candidates and leaders among the Malays and Islam.

"Such an attempt will not justify the party's (DAP) ideology, which is against Islam (Islamic principles)," Hadi had said.
