GE15: Stop questioning fed govt legitimacy, harping on DAP, Kedah BN tells Sanusi

PADANG SERAI: Kedah Barisan Nasional (BN) reminded Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi to stop questioning the federal unity government's legitimacy by labelling it as 'Kerajaan Luar Tabii' (unnatural government).

Its Communications director Datuk Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said Sanusi should accept the fact that the new federal government was formed with the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

"How could he claim that the government that was formed was against the aspiration and wishes of the Malaysians? Who is he to represent the voice and wishes of Malaysians?" he said in a statement today.

Shaiful reminded Sanusi, who is also the state Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman that the cabinet lineup was formed in accordance with the constitution.

"The Prime Minister had presented the unity government cabinet lineup to the king for consent. This is the constitutional monarchy system that we had practised for decades," he said.

Shaiful also reminded Sanusi to stop harping on DAP and Islamophobia in his campaign trail for the Padang Serai parliamentary election.

"Focus on cleaning up the heart of PN leaders, especially Pas leaders who keep on harping on DAP and Islamophobia. Stop arguing about the legitimacy of the unity government at the federal government.

"Learn to make peace with Allah's destiny that Pas is unable to form the federal government and accept that there are lessons from it," he said.

He added that it was wiser for Sanusi and the elected representatives from Pas and PN in Kedah to carry out their duties as entrusted by the people.

A news portal has reported that Sanusi made the "unnatural government" remarks during a rally for the Padang Serai parliamentary election campaign in Taman Mutiara here on Friday.

Sanusi was reported as labelling Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's cabinet as an 'unnatural government' for appointing Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as Deputy Prime Minister.

He also said the formation of the federal government which comprised of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) was against the wish of the general public.
