KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Mertajam Member of Parliament (MP) Steven Sim took to Facebook to express his gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for appointing him as a Deputy Finance Minister.
"Thank you to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the trust and faith in me by appointing me to serve as a Deputy Finance Minister.
"My main focus is to assist in efforts by the Finance Minister carry out efficient financial administration, ensuring for recovery of the national economy and improving people's welfare.
"I will serve all Malaysians regardless of race, religion or political affiliation," said the 40-year-old DAP lawmaker who is the party's National Organising Secretary.
Steven, who is a former Youth and Sports Deputy Minister during the previous Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration, added that the appointment was an important responsibility that he would shoulder and he hopes for the prayers and support from all his fellow Malaysians.
