Prove Muhyiddin wrong, says Guan Eng

GEORGETOWN: DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng has reminded the Penang Pakatan Harapan (PH) government to work hard to defeat Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the upcoming state election.

He hopes PH would not only defend the state in the upcoming state election but would also do something in other state including defending and adding to the existing number of seats.

"In the state election, the Penang government should not take it easy, they have to work hard to defeat PN.

"Prove that the 80 per cent support for PN as claimed by Muhyiddin (PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) is just empty talk," said Lim in a posting on his Facebook page.

Preciously, Muhyiddin was reported as saying that PN is confident of getting 70 to 80 per cent support of the people, especially the Malay vote, and consider the state elections as the new yard stick in the future of the country's politics.

Lim said, even though the unity government have been formed, there are still parties who would not accept the fact and there are still attempts to topple the legitimate government that are accepted by the people.

The Bagan member of Parliament stressed that the party not only want to retain the state administration but also defend the Federal government which is stable and able to work.

"The Penang DAP Aidilfitri open house that was held a few days ago was open to all regardless of party background, especially those who were once adversaries but are now allies," said Lim.
