Ras Adiba Radzi joins Bersatu

SEREMBAN: Former senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi has joined Parti Bersatu Pribumi Malaysia (Bersatu).

Her letter of appointment was handed over to her by Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during the Perikatan Nasional election machinery launch event in Taman Warisan Puteri Sikamat in Seremban here.

Others who received their letters to join Bersatu at the same event were former Putrajaya Umno division deputy chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, former Negri Sembilan PKR women's wing head Azlimah Zamli and the party's former Jelebu branch head Mazmi Ahmad Yusof.

Also present at the event were Pas vice-president Datuk Idris Ahmad, Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, Negri Sembilan PN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, Arau member of parliament Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim and Indera Mahkota MP Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah.

Ras Adiba was appointed senator to represent people with disabilities in May, 2020 during Muhyiddin's tenure as prime minister.

When asked about her decision to join Bersatu, she said she chose the party because she wanted to join its struggles for the people, especially in terms of the welfare of people with disabilities.

She believes only PN could return the country to its former level of success and wellbeing.

"For weeks, I contemplated about joining Bersatu. A lot of my friends have also invited me to join Bersatu.

"After observing our country's politics, and as a Negri Sembilan native, I will give my absolute support in joining Bersatu to fight with PN under the leadership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin," she said.

Ras Adiba said she had been Umno member until the end of last year, but she then decided to join Bersatu due to the change in political scenario.

She said she wanted to help Bersatu and PN in the state elections next month so the coalition could win and become the state government in Negri Sembilan.

"I did not join Bersatu so I can be nominated in the state elections, but I joined it to fight alongside PN to defend our people.

"I will give 500 per cent of my support to my colleagues in Bersatu to ensure PN will be able to form the state govenment in the upcoming elections."
