MyOnePas app still in Beta testing phase: Takiyuddin

KOTA BARU: Pas has denied claims that the party's new app, called 'MyOnePAS', posed a security risk, saying that it is still in the Beta testing phase.

Its secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the Islamist party, however, has requested developer PASpay Technology Sdn Bhd (PASpay) to tighten its security features.

He said the party had launched the app during its muktamar last week to gauge the interest from the public as well as its members.

"Pas hears and understands concerns from the public, including information technology experts, on the launch of MyOnePAS app recently.

"The launch of this application is a big step for us to be more digitised.

"The app, though ready and downloadable, is still in the Beta or early stages of development.

"We have released the Beta version to get some feedback and early responses from the public, especially Pas members," he said in a statement tonight.

The Kota Baru MP said Pas as well as PASpay took all the feedback seriously.

"The party has told the developer to raise awareness that the app can be downloaded from the 'https://myonepas.com/' website only.

"A memo has been sent to all Pas members informing them of the latest developments," he added.

He said the MyOnePAS app is open to everyone, not just Pas members.

"This app is supposed to provide a variety of services including e-wallet, bill payments, mobile reloads, Islamic prayer schedule, qibla location finder, and donations to the party," he said.

He said those who had downloaded the app could use its trial functions such as qibla finder and prayer time information.

Takiyuddin urged party members to wait for the official release of the app on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, expected to be available by the end of November.

Technology experts had previously raised security concerns over MyOnePAS, which included features such as e-wallet functionality and bill payment services, as it was not available for download from registered platforms.

The app currently requires users to sideload it from a website, or install it from sources other than the official app stores.
