Kelantan Umno believes move by Gua Musang MP just a game of diversion

KOTA BARU: Kelantan Umno believes that the move by the Gua Musang member of parliament to declare his support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the unity government, is just a 'diversion game' to get allocations.

Kelantan Umno deputy Information chief Noor Hariri Mohamed Noor said the party also suspected that Perikatan Nasional (PN) is behind the move by the Gua Musang MP.

"I am not surprised by the MP's announcement to declare his supports the Prime Minister 'for the sake of the people'.

"Before this, two MPs from Bersatu or PN issued the same statements.

"Kelantan Umno believe this is a deliberate move by PN because the three of them were only suspended from Bersatu membership, not being terminated.

"This is just a diversion game to get allocations and projects through them only," he said in a statement today.

He said everyone know that the Federal government did not block the allocations to opposition members of parliament.

"They still receive the stipulated allowances. To bs more effective, the government has directly channeled the development allocations to the relevant agencies to smooth the distribution process among the targetted people.

"This is because the government has received many complaints in the three states, namely Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu.

"Previously, aid allocations were only given to selective people among Pas and Bersatu party members only," he said.

He said he hoped that the move by PN did not blind the Prime Minister in strengthening support.

"PM needs to also look at the sincerity and loyalty factor in evaluating the support of the three MPs," he added.

He was responding on Gua Musang MP Mohd Azizi Abu Naim's move yesterday to declare his support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his unity government.

He joins fellow Bersatu MPs Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan) and Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar).

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Azizi said his move to support Anwar had to be done for the sake and betterment of the people in his constituency.
