Puad: Who is the real 'Man on the Run'?

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi has taken a swipe at several prominent politicians and their family members by linking them to the Netflix super hit documentary, "Man on the Run."

The Umno Supreme Council member said former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's request for the documentary to be removed from the air had its merits.

He said the show contains many inaccuracies, is prejudicial, contains slander, and has been extremely unfair towards Najib, who is still fighting the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) case.

"Who is the real 'Man on the Run'?

"Tun Daim (Zainuddin)? (Tan Sri) Muhyiddin (Yassin)'s son-in-law (Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan)? Or Tun (Dr) Mahathir Mohamad?

"Najib has never tried to run away from facing trial. Even though he is facing numerous charges… he will never run away," Puad said in a Facebook post.

He went on to say that some people believe themselves to be immune to charges.

"The authorities must stand firm and not compromise (in dealing with such cases). Investigations must proceed regardless of the individual's age.

"Notably, Khieu Samphan, (who succeeded Pol Pot as leader of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia) was charged at the age of 91."

While Puad did not expand on his posting concerning the trio, it was previously reported that Daim is being investigated over allegations of corruption and money-laundering, while, Muhyiddin's son-in-law is on the run.
