Bersatu drops Faizal Azumu as party's Negri Sembilan chief

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Perak menteri besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu is no longer the Negri Sembilan Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chief.

He has been replaced by Labu assemblyman Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker, 44, who is also the party's Rasah division chief.

Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin named Hulu Kelang state assemblyman Datuk Seri Azmin Ali as the party's new Selangor chief.

Azmin replaces Selat Klang assemblyman Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari.

"The party would like to extend our appreciation to Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari for their services in leading the two states previously," said Hamzah in a statement today.
