SEREMBAN: Labu assemblyman Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker has been appointed Negri Sembilan Bersatu chief and Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman with immediate effect.
He takes over from Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
Ahmad Faizal, who is Bersatu deputy president, said the decision on the appointment was made at yesterday's meeting of the Bersatu Supreme Leadership Council (MPT) in Kuala Lumpur.
"I believe that the Bersatu divisions will cooperate well with Mohamad Hanifah in strengthening the party. Most importantly, Bersatu and PN must play a role as an authoritative opposition, always raising people's issues and trying to improve people's lives," he told Bernama when contacted today. — BERNAMA
