Sanusi covering up for PN failure to topple unity govt, claims Kedah Umno man

ALOR STAR: Kedah Umno has taken a jibe at Menteri Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor for claiming that the unity government would fall apart this year.

State Umno Information chief Datuk Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said Sanusi was merely covering up Perikatan Nasional's (PN) failures to topple the federal government over the past year.

"This time, Sanusi, full of guts and confidence, claimed that the government is going to collapse. Sanusi is actually afraid of PN's own shadow, they realise that they are losing support, hence they are panicking and ashamed of their supporters.

"The claims that they are forming the (federal) government is not the first time (they have said so). If this was a television drama, the people would have changed the channel because it was just merely the same script.

"During the six states election, they claimed that there will be a change in the government but 145 days after the elections, what has changed? Nothing.

"In fact, after the states' elections, one countdown after another was broadcast on social media, claiming that the government will collapse on Aug 31, but Dec 31 has passed with nothing happening.

"What happened was several members of Parliament from Bersatu have pledged their support for PMX (Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim), the number of support for PMX is increasing day by day, it is theirs (support) that is waning," he said in a statement today.

Shaiful added that to rub salt to the injuries, the "Dubai Move" engineered by the opposition had failed.

"The government is not being toppled. In fact the Opposition's plan to bring in RM750 million into this country has also failed following the quick action by the Home Ministry together with the FBI (the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation), Interpol and CIA (the United States' Central Intelligence Agency)," he said.

Last Wednesday, PKR member Aswardy Morni claimed that there was an attempt to bring in RM750 million cash into the country in a bid to buy over government members of Parliament (MPs) in order to topple Anwar's administration.

"On Monday or Tuesday, I received information that they tried to bring in RM750 million cash or 140 million euro into our country through someone who is residing in the United Kingdom.

"The money was supposed to land in Malaysia via a private jet on Dec 26 but the plan was thwarted in between transit points but we do not know exactly where it was," he claimed during a Facebook live on his account Iswardy Morni Utama on Dec 27.

He claimed that the plan was hatched after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) launched an investigation against former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin for allegations of corruption and money laundering following the seizure of Ilham Tower on Dec 18.

Commenting further, Shaiful stressed that the Madani government was truly stable with the component parties that formed the unity government having demonstrated their unwavering loyalty.

Sarawak Premier and GPS leaders have lamented the Dubai Move was a waste of time.

"Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi himself has made it clear that Umno will remain with the Madani government. We are also aware that those who wish to work with PN are not from Zahid's camp, thus there should be no worries.

"Finally, for Sanusi and the whole PN coalition, listen to the advice by Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang (Pas President); those who are obsessed with finding faults of the government are worse than monkeys and squirrels.

"Be a rational person, if you want to change the government, do it during the next general election," he said.

Yesterday, Sanusi confirmed that there was a move by PN to topple the Madani government through democratic process that is permitted by the Federal Constitution.
