KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) will continue to play its role as the opposition in the Dewan Rakyat for checks and balances, said Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
The Kubang Kerian member of parliament said the opposition coalition would support any initiative that benefited the people.
"Insya-Allah, we from PN will take on the responsibility of reprimanding the government on issues that are disadvantageous for the people or country.
"We will continue to champion the people's wellbeing, the country's sovereignty, the sanctity of Islam and the harmony of the people," he said in a Facebook post today.
Earlier today, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, stressed in his speech on several key points, notably the conduct and responsibilities of parliamentarians.
