'Traitors' not invited to PN convention, Bersatu says on 6 MPs, assemblyman

KUALA LUMPUR: Bersatu has confirmed that it did not invite its six members of Parliament who have declared support for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to a convention for Perikatan Nasional elected representatives.

"They are traitors. Why would we invite them?" Bersatu Information chief Datuk Razali Idris said on the sidelines of the convention here today.

The six are Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal (Bukit Gantang), Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang), Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi (Tanjong Karang), Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar) and Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan).

Another elected representative who was not invited is Selat Klang assemblyman Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari, the former Selangor Bersatu chief who announced his support for Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari earlier this week.

Last week, Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said Bersatu would submit a notice to Parliament seeking to vacate all six seats of its MPs who pledged support towards the Madani administration.
