Hajiji slams 'oudated' Bung over claims on Sabah's development

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin is out of touch with the development programmes in the state, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

On Tuesday, Bung had said Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) had been making announcements but people were still suffering from the lack of infrastructure.

"He is the one who does not know the situation and what our government has done for the people.

"I think Bung is the one who is 'outdated', he only lives in his own imaginary world," he told the media after handing over Hari Raya cookies to enforcement and healthcare workers at Menara Kinabalu here.

Last year, Hajiji had said the government would resolve infrastructure issues within three years, which saw the launch of the Sabah Energy Roadmap and Master Plan 2040. It would also establish its own oil and gas company, among others.

Earlier at the event, Hajiji said the state government wanted to appreciate the sacrifices of the security forces and healthcare personnel.

"May our efforts during this Ramadan encourage the security forces, healthcare personnel and enforcement agencies to continue serving with full dedication, especially during this festive season," he said.

Hajiji also said the state government would organise a Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house at Sabah International Convention Centre here on April 14, adding that he expected about 20,000 visitors.
