Ramli rallies Orang Asli support to back PH in KKB

HULU SELANGOR: Cameron Highlands member of Parliament Datuk Ramli Mohd Nor called on the Orang Asli here who have been loyal to Barisan Nasional (BN) to support Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Ramli, who is the Deputy Dewan Rakyat Speaker was speaking during Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Pang Sock Tao's meet and greet with the Orang Asli Kampung Tun Abdul Razak.

"Do you see this logo (BN), do you see PH? Let me explain why. In terms of data, the Orang Asli from 1957 until the 14th General Election (GE14) has been voting for 'dacing' (BN), by 90 per cent.

"During GE14, there was a decrease in Orang Asli support by almost 76 per cent. However, in the 15th General Election, Orang Asli's support surged to over 80 per cent.

"Therefore, Orang Asli in Kuala Kubu Baharu need to vote and support PH.

"Do you know why? Because now BN and PH are friends. We don't stab our friends.

"PH helped BN in Pelangai. As Umno president (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) once said, loyalty means supporting each other and ensuring political stability.

"So I hope the Temuan ethnic group in the Kuala Kubu Baharu will never forget and ensure that loyalty by voting for PH candidate number two; Pang Sock Tao," he said.

Later, when met by reporters, Ramli expressed his confidence that the Orang Asli in Kuala Kubu Baharu will give their support to Pang and PH in the by-election.

There are 1,279 Orang Asli voters from seven villages in Kuala Kubu Baharu, namely Kampung Kolam Air, Kampung Tun Abdul Razak, Kampung Kuala Kerling, Kampung Sungai Jang, Kampung Pertak, Kampung Gerachi Jaya and Kampung Buloh Telor.
