Dr Bahari's ways

A FEW days ago, a medical doctor took me out for lunch. I asked Datuk Wira Dr Bahari Datuk Abu Mansor what was the secret of his supercool personality and charm.

He’s 69, has three grandchildren and plays golf regularly.

“Try not to miss your subuh prayers in the mosque.

“I wake up at 4.45am every day and drive to the nearby mosque to join the fajr congregation.

“It’s the best way to start your day,” this No. 2 person in the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) said.

Perhaps, it was his devotion to his subuh prayers that helped him through some of the most dangerous assignments with the MRC.

He’s been to Gaza a few times, the Mindanao province in the southern Phillippines, earthquake areas such as Japan and was right in Aceh during the tsunami of 2004. Maybe we should start following his advice.
