Israeli war crimes should not be condoned

RIGHT now, all kinds of war crimes are being committed by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza. The same has been happening in the West Bank since the Oct 7 Hamas attack.

That can only mean that Israel is waging war against Palestine and the Palestinian Authority (PA). With its military might, Israel is the one controlling Gaza, not Hamas. The Israeli army is also in control of the West Bank, not the PA.

The crimes against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are too numerous to state here as they have been under oppression since the establishment of the state of Israel over seven decades ago.

I would like to refer to the news report about a Malaysian man who was arrested recently after he was suspected of supporting the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Israel.

To that man, and others, I would ask them to research and understand the difference between an occupier (Israelis) and the occupied (Palestinians).

They will surely change their mind. Many others around the world have recognised the violent policies enacted by the occupier Israelis against the occupied Palestinians.

It is also becoming clear that Israel is doing exactly to the Palestinians what Nazi Germany had done to the Jewish people.

It is mind-boggling, therefore, to read about the move by Germany to ban pro-Palestinian rallies and support, labelling them as supporting Hamas and as anti-Semitic when they are protesting Israel's war crimes against Palestinians.

People are also criticising certain Western nations for not calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and, at the same time, sending financial aid and weaponry to the Zionist state.

It is clear that the citizens of the world are against Israel and support Palestinians, judging by the rallies and protests the world over, clashing against the stand taken by their pro-Israeli governments.

That is why the latest "veto" by the United States in the United Nations to reject the ceasefire resolution marked a new low for the country that often likes to urge the world to respect and value human rights and democracy.

What the US is saying is probably "do as we say not what we do". No wonder the international community, especially the Global South, are making the move to not be tied down to the US in world affairs with the emergence of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) grouping.

The US and other Israeli supporters should be aware of their complicity in war crimes against the Palestinians, with social media documenting and revealing each crime.

As Israel continues its indiscriminate bombing and violence against a defenceless people and their neighbours, the world knows which side really fits the term "human animals" and "savages".
