Tech defeats Israeli claims

I SUPPORT Palestinian resistance. My generation, those who are in their mid to late 50s, have seen how Palestinian ambition for a state of their own has been crushed by the West, who continue to collaborate with Israel through financial and military aid, ever since the establishment of the Zionist regime decades ago.

Thankfully, the West and Israel no longer hold an advantage in this technology-focused era.

Their narrative can be rebutted as social media platforms can differentiate between fake news and the truth.

One example post-Oct 7 was an Israeli army officer pointing to a piece of paper allegedly showing a list of Hamas fighters, before being ridiculed shortly as it was a hospital's roster.

The West and Israeli media keep on saying that the Zionist state is being threatened by its neighbours, but it is Israel that has launched attacks on Lebanon instead, while its Western allies keep provoking and accusing Iran of planning to attack the Zionist regime.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have killed more than 18,000 Gazans, half of them children; and bombed civilians and residential neighbourhoods, mosques, churches and even United Nations installations. Is the IDF still the most moral army around?

Divide and conquer is Israel's expertise. First, it won't deal with the Palestinian Liberation Organisation because the Yasser Arafat-led group's charter called for the destruction of Israel, but when the movement abolished the clause, the occupation worsened.

Hamas has the same clause in its charter. Will it capitulate too? Time will tell as I foresee that Israel will continue to point to such a clause to stick to "we don't have a partner for peace" narrative.

When it comes to the peace process, the West and Israel will use their favourite line: it is the fault of Arafat or the PLO and now Hamas for waging a violent campaign against the Zionist state, or that it failed to accept what was offered during negotiations.

The world has wised up to this narrative though as it is Israel that created the real obstacle to a Palestinian state being established as more illegal settlements continue to be built since the peace process started, Palestinian lands continue to be expropriated, and a Great Wall now separates Palestinian villages and Israeli settler areas.

Yet some continue to insult people's intelligence when the world is urging a stop to the violence and oppression by Israel.

Here's a paragraph from a Reuters report: "White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said on Tuesday he will discuss with Israel officials their timetable for the war in Gaza in upcoming talks."

Can the United States blame those who interpret that as akin to admitting its involvement in Israel's genocidal campaign against Palestinians?
