AlloyMtd re-enters London with luxury hotel

AlloyMtd Group, an infrastructure conglomerate, is set to open a luxury hotel in Sun Street, London, by 2020.

The hotel, set in a restored Georgian terrace dating back to the early 1800s, forms part of the One Crown Place mixed-use development.

Bespoke Hotels has been appointed to operate 41 bedrooms at the property, under the management of AlloyMtd and CBRE.

AlloyMtd acquired the landmark One Crown Place development from UBS in 2013, reportedly for over £50 million (RM277.5 million), via a competitive bidding process brought to the market by CBRE.

The project, which has a gross development value of £500 million, marks AlloyMtd’s re-entry into the London property market.

The site has a planning consent for a combination of modern and cutting-edge architecture featuring offices with apartments across several buildings, including two terracotta-clad residential towers. The tallest of the tower is 33 storeys high.

The launch of the hotel, which spans five floors across six Georgian townhouses, has been planned for early 2020 with premier double rooms starting from £295 per night.

Haydn Fentum, Bespoke Hotels chief executive officer, commented: “We are delighted to have been appointed to oversee the operation of the hotel at One Crown Place.”

“The development will be a stunning landmark for London, further galvanising an area that has developed remarkably in recent years, with the hotel being a key ingredient within this,” he said.

The hotel, the name of which will be unveiled later this year, will sit alongside the striking terracotta-clad residential towers containing 246 luxury apartments and 140,000 sq ft of premium office space.

Public spaces and apartments at One Crown Place have been designed by Bowler James Brindley and Sophie Ashby’s Studio Ashby.

Studio Ashby designed the development’s nine penthouses, which were launched late last year.

The prices for a one-bedroom apartment launched last year was from £725,000.

Residential sales of the South Tower will be released to the public on March 1.
